The W. H. Davy Symphony Hall is a project in Moorhead, Minnesota completed by five students in the first semester of our graduate degree. It is intended to serve the Fargo and Moorhead communities by not only bringing the community together with music, but also to educate the younger generations by nurturing and developing their musical skills.
This is made possible with an auditorium to showcase musical performances, speeches, rallies, and plays. There is also a daycare center and musical school for children in the building, located below the black box theater, which provides an intimate and interactive experience for the community. The hall also contains rehearsal rooms alongside a two-story restaurant to be rented out to a local vendor.
Studies were done with acoustical simulations to ensure a successful symphony hall design.
