The Wave

The Wave is a mid-rise multi-use project designed for the capstone project of my undergrad. Located in the heart of Miami, the Wave is designed with affordability and kindness in mind, containing a school, affordable housing, and assisted living. So close to the ocean, it brings to mind a wave, bringing people into a community but also giving them something back, the same cyclical give-and take of the crashing tide. All stages of the human life are catered to, the same way a wave completes a circle just as it comes rushing down. The Wave project began with intensive study into Miami’s culture, history, environment, and the specifics of Miami’s roads, codes, and more, and culminated in a two minute animated video alongside a 92 page book.
